Just returning from a wonderful trip to NYC to see brother Mo perform in his Broadway debut in The Addams Family. I am so blessed to have such an incredible, talented brother who lets me come visit him all over the globe!

Mo’s performance was amazing. He is truly a Broadway performer through and through. The Addams Family is such a fun show and I ended up getting GREAT seats in the 4th row- hurrah! If you are in NY you should definitely see it.

Also on this trip were trips to Chelsea, Brooklyn, Eataly, meals with friends from all stages of life, a little shopping, LOTS of walking, LOTS of rain, a failed attempt to see a live taping of Regis and Kelly, and lots of quality time with Mo.

Below are just a few highlights:

Last weekend I was in the Bay area, celebrating the holiest of matrimonies, that of Julie and Aaron Davidson. I will be sure to share more about THAT gorgeous event when I have a minute to upload pictures. However here, I will share with you my lovely Sunday in the Mission district of San Francisco. The Mission has a very Capital Hill- Broadway feel to it with lots of eclectic shops, restaurants, and a hip up-and-coming vibe. I was there to see 2 college roommates of mine, Ann and Liz. Ann works at Ritual, a coffee shop on Valencia, among other fabulous things. I had a few hours to burn waiting for Ann to get off of work and so with some direction and suggestions from Ann, explored the streets of the Mission.

Seriously, if I have some time to kill, drop me off in a neighborhood like the Mission, lined with vintage and thrift shops and I am a happy camper. So much cool old stuff to sift through and treasures to be found, like the 2 pairs of shoes I found at the Community Thrift Store of $2.75 each. Also thoroughly enjoyed After Life for it’s awesome selection of vintage gear and picked myself up a sweater originally from MERVYNS.

As I was walking I spent some time making phone calls to family, including brother Mo and as I described the neighborhood to him he commented, ‘uh, oh. I smell a blog post.’ Well, here you go, Mo.

Hope you have a great weekend planned! Pumpkin carving, lots of homework, singing in church, and a Megan/Anna day are on my agenda.

Take care, xo,

Meg

I don’t know about you, but for me, traveling and reading go hand in hand. Especially when a cruise ship and laying out are involved. This trip was I was accompanied by several reads, however, The New York Regional Mormon Singles Halloween Dance by Elna Baker was by far my favorite.

The New York Regional Mormon Singles Halloween Dance

Honestly- probably one of my new favorite books. This is a series of essays and stories written by Elna Baker, telling the story of her life in New York as just that- a Mormon single. Hilarious and totally thought provoking, I felt I could so deeply relate to her stories of faith, love, health, vocation, and more. I very highly recommend it. Seriously. I would let you borrow it- but I left it on the boat for my brother and his cast-mates to read.

Elna also writes for NPR and is a stand-up comedian in NYC.

Here we go again! I leave tomorrow morning, bright and EARLY for another cruise adventure I know, I know- who am I?!

Tomorrow I fly through Atlanta to Barcelona, where I will meet up with Brother Mo to spend 11 days at sea, visiting Corsica, Rome, Florence and Pisa, Tunisia, Malta, Cannes, and Nice on the Disney Magic. Trip of a lifetime or what, huh?! It’s also the warmest time of year in this part of the world so it will be around 85-90 degrees everyday- I am seriously the luckiest girl alive! I will be sure and take lots of pictures as always and let you know the highlights. As of right now I’m looking forward to, well, everything, but especially eating pizza in Naples, Italy and taking a bike tour of Barcelona. Ah!

Now to finish packing….

See you when I get back! September 10th!

Much love,

Meg

…you will hate me. Ok, you might not hate me, but you will most likely be mighty jealous, as 4 weeks from today I fly to Barcelona to embark on another cruise with the Brother!.. this time through the Mediterranean! Woah!! I don’t think it has really sunk in that I’m going, otherwise I think I’d be giddy and sleepless.

{Picture of Barcelona found here}

This cruise will be 11 nights, 12 days, 8 ports of call, all on the very same ship I was on in the Caribbean. How funny that I will sleep in the same bed, work out on the same machines, sit by the same pools that I did on the other side of the Atlantic. Blows my mind.

More info to come, but let the countdown begin!

Meg

This post is dedicated to Brother Mo, and to the Pearl District of Portland, OR.

Portland is so cute and cool, you guys. I always forget.

As you can see it was a gorgeous day, just meandering and exploring…

Missed you, Mo!

… to Grandmother’s house we go!

My mom is currently on her way to Seattle from Spokane. Tonight we’ve got a packed schedule of walks around Greenlake, home hair highlighting, Trader Joe’s pizza, and a new episode of What Not to Wear. Tomorrow morning we’ll head down to Portland, spend some time downtown, and then head west of Portland to visit my mom’s side of the family… including the newest addition, Maeza Grace Wilson, who my cousin Amy and her husband Brent just adopted from Ethiopia! Ah! So excited!

Also on the agenda for Sunday is to make the long anticipated ORANGE CHOCOLATE CHUNK CAKE! I’ll keep you updated.

Hope you have a great Mother’s Day weekend!

Y’all. I had THE BEST time on my vacation. I seriously can’t say enough about it. It was SO restful and sunny and filled with adventure. I feel SO blessed.

I happen to love feet photos- I think they tell a story- what kind of shoes you’re wearing and what the ground looks like at your current location can say a lot. And so, I have a habit of taking lots of feet photos myself. :-)

Below are a few I took my trip. As you can see, I spent a lot of time lounging in the sun.

Hi!

My name is Megan. I’m a twenty-something girl, living in Seattle, working, living, running, laughing, baking, singing, and being constantly inspired by the glory of God manifested in the beauty of the world around me. I see beauty in a dress, a photo, a thoughtfully decorated room, my friends, a pair of shoes, a cupcake, a song, a flower arrangement. And this is where it all comes together.
