{from my parents’ garden.}
Free flowers are always a good thing. Especially when they are peonies from your parents’ garden. Dawn and I have been spending many of the lovely Seattle summer evenings we’ve been having on the front porch of our house and these peonies just make it all the better. Plus they do such a cute job of welcoming you home.

One of my {former} roommates, Maren, got married in December and her beeauuutiful wedding photos were just posted by her photographer, Kristen Marie, on her website.
Kristen is honestly one my favorite wedding photographers and has such a great heart (I haven’t actually talked with her, but read her about me section… so cute!)
Below are some of my favorites, you can view more here

Hahaha, yes, that’s me….
This was seriously such a fun and beautiful wedding! The ceremony was so meaningful and worshipful and the reception was so much fun! They had a live cover band, that, when Maren initially told me about I was super skeptical because our friends LOVE to dance and I wasn’t sure a cover band of white guys in thier 50s and 60s would cut it. But boy was I wrong! They were so good and so fun and totally played Usher and Lady Gaga. It was incredible!
Happy Wednesday!

I recently picked up this buy at Barnes and Noble:

And I hiiighly recommend it! I made the turkey roulade for Thanksgiving a few years ago and it was amazing! Ellie does such a great job at creating really delicious, really healthy, (beautiful balance) recipes. It can be really challenging to cook in a way that is healthful yet still satisfying and appealing and this book does an awesome job of showing you how to have both.
Roomate Kelly made the chocolate cherry almond biscotti a few days ago and it did NOT dissappoint. Way to go, Kell!
Hi blog readers! (maybe 5 of you now?!) I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend! Mine was full of celebration as I spent the day with 3 generations of mothers, 5 wonderful mothers total! Whew!
Mother’s Day also happened to my one of my roommate, Kelly’s, birthday! Kelly loves lemon, so something lemony was on the menu. After some on-line research I was so excited to find that Macrina Bakery here in Seattle offers one free recipe on-line a month! You can subscribe to their monthly recipe here. And this month’s recipe featured a very lemony lemon sour cherry coffee cake. Perfect!
Here are some shots of the birthday girl with her cake:

(This was a candid shot of when Kelly almost dropped it)

Happy Birthday, Kell! Shibby!
